Nowadays, everyone is on the DIY (do-it-yourself) trend. You could diagnose your own diseases, make a meal worthy of a Michelin star, or even cut your own hair, thanks to our little friends Google and YouTube.
But we’ve all seen those failed Pinterest projects, so be careful with your choice of DIY project. While these tools are great for ideas, the experts are still just that… experts.
Celebrity Stylist and Creative Director of Atma beauty Sheenon Olson advises you to put the brakes on when it comes to cutting your own hair.
“A proper haircut requires a class in the principles of haircutting at the very least,” says Sheenon Olson, creative director of ATMA Beauty in Miami. “I’ve never seen this done successfully and would recommend people avoid it at all costs, otherwise even your stylist might not be able to fix it or achieve the style you were hoping for.” -Sheenon Olson for Reader’s Digest
So unless you want to end up with a haircut that’s just a little too homemade, put the scissors down. Instead, book an appointment at Atma for a look you won’t regret.
